large IT area and this particular division has around 470 employees, there

Description of Duties for DBA
Installing, maintaining, and solving problems with the following tools and
utilities for DB2: BMC Catalog and Change Manager, Log Master, Apptune,
Mainview, PST Relational Tools, and the various utilities for DB2. Working
with vendors on solving problems related to these tools and utilities.
Participation in the dissemination of knowledge and skills related to these
tools and utilities across the Enterprise. Assisting DBA's across the
enterprise with solving technical problems. Performance monitoring, tuning,
problem resolution, and recovery of DB2 databases On-call support.
Qualifications
General: Two or four year college degree with minimum two years of technical
experience or equivalent work experience. Database Background: Two years of
DB2 OS/390 Database Administration and SQL Coding. Programming: JCL, COBOL
and REXX skills valuable. Other Skills: Looking for an individual with strong
problem solving, results oriented, and communication competencies. Roles
include but not limited to: Analyzer, Technical Engineer, Technical Expert,
and Consultant. OTHER The department will also consider candidates at the IT
Analyst and IT Analyst Sr.
level.

Description of Duties For Data Architect:
This position is for a Data Architect (DA) on our Database Support Team,
which provides data integrity and underlying system architecture for the
Retirement and Investor Services business unit. Responsibilities for
potential candidates would include: working with system and business
designers to understand and define project data requirements; facilitating
data modeling meetings with project teams to design databases for
implementation in DB2; utilizing data modeling tools to graphically represent
database designs, develop data definitions, record other data structure
metadata information; and participate in the continuing development of
Principal Financial Group's modeling methodology.
Qualifications
Requires 3-5 years of experience in a Data Architect role with DB2. Must have
excellent analysis skills as demonstrated with previous involvement in IT or
business project efforts. Must have excellent verbal and written
communication skills. Must have the ability to present abstract or technical
concepts to both technical and non-technical personnel. Must be
self-motivated. Must be able to manage involvement in many projects
simultaneously. Knowledge of Retirement Services is preferred, but not
required.

Description of Duties for IT Analyst Lead - DB2
DB2 for OS/390 DBA. Will collaborate with data modelers, application
developers, and other DBA's to develop, build, and maintain DB2 database
solutions. Will provide assistance to DB2 application developers with coding,
tuning, and troubleshooting of SQL. Duties include on-call support.
