HI all:

We are running DB2 V7.1 Fixpack 2a EE AIX 4.3.3. The
configuration goes like:
4 CPU,
4 GB RAM,
6 disks on RAID-5,
2 raid adapters,
6 GB database,
9 tablespaces (6 DMS and 3 SMS) -(includes catalog
tablespace),
3 bufferpool , total allocated is 130,000 4KB pages.

As per IBM documentation:
NUM_IOSERVERS = no. of physical disks (or) total no of
containers in the tablespaces.
NUM_IOCLEANERS = no. of physical disks.

What should be the proposed MINIMUM & MAXIMUM value
for the IOSERVERS and IOCLEANERS with
DB2_STRIPPED_CONTAINER=YES, DB2_PARALLEL_IO=*, extent
size = 16 4KB pages and PREFETCHSIZE=128 4KB pages. On
a RAID5 system with 6 disks ?

Question is: Can we make the ioservers & iocleaners
more than equal to no. of physical disks?

Any help on this subject is appreciated.
