Hi Hanne,
since V7.1 you have the possibility to use Sequences like Oracle. Look for the create table syntax for creating tables with this option in the SQL Reference: http://www-4.ibm.com/cgi-bin/db2www/data/db2/udb/winos2unix/support/document.d2w/report?last_page=list.d2w&fn=db2v7s0sqls0621.htm best regards Joachim Mller -------------------------------------------------------- Datenbanken DOUGLAS Informatik & Service GmbH Kabeler Strae 4 D-58099 Hagen Tel.:+49-2331-690-249 Fax:+49-2331-690-78-249 Mobile: +49-170-2221-249 mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.douglas-informatik.de Hanne Hagedorn| <[EMAIL PROTECTED]| An: [EMAIL PROTECTED] >| Kopie: Gesendet von:| Blindkopie: [EMAIL PROTECTED]| Thema: DB2EUG: autoincrement? a.best.com| | | 29.10.2001 12:28| Bitte antworten an| db2eug| | --------------------------------+------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hi List, in Oracle I use sequences to fill my PK columns with an incrementing number. How could I do this in DB2? Is there anything like Oracle sequences or like the autoincrement feature in MySQL or do I have to use triggers or something? Any help appreciated!
