Hi,

Check your DB2 Security Service is up and running. (I'm not sure if it is
called the same thing in V7 - we are only at V5.2)

Other possibilities are the userid you are using has been locked out, or
password has expired and needs to be changed.

>From the V5.2 messages manual:

SQL1402N Unable to authenticate user due to unexpected system error.
Cause: Call your system administrator. On unix-based systems, the file
db2ckpw may not have the correct permission bits set, or the system may have
run out of swap/paging space. On Windows NT, the DB2 security service may
not have been started.

The command can not be processed.

DataJoiner users: this situation can be detected by DataJoiner or by the
data source.

Action: On unix-based systems, have the system administrator ensure the
correct access permissions are set for db2ckpw, and that there is enough
swap/paging space allocated. On Windows NT, have the system administrator
verify that the DB2 security service is installed and started.

Subject: DB2EUG: Problem with Command Center.

Hi

I am running Windows 2000 and trying to connect to a UDB server ver. 7.2 on
a NT box. When I try to connect using the command : CONNECT TO <> USER <> I
get the following message. I have checked that the NET LOGON service is
running. I am able to use CLP to successfully connect and issue SQL
statements.

DBA2192E Database Connection Failed.
com.ibm.db.DataException: A Database Manager Error Occurred.
[IBM][CLI Driver] SQL1402N Unable to Authenticate user due to unexpected
system error

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks and Regards
Have a nice day
