Hello list, I am wondering how people on this list ensure that database backups are being taken on a regular basis. In our S/390 environment, we have jobs scheduled to run against the sysibm.syscopy table that sends us a report of tablespaces that haven't been copied in a set number of days (usually 5). We currently have rexx scripts that are scheduled to run nightly, against our UDB databases on NT and AIX, taking both online and offline backups, depending on the traffic at the time of the backup. What I am wanting to do is have/develop an automated way to ensure that the backups are indeed happening. How do people on this list perform this action?
