Thank-you, all replies
It seems to be every time I connect. I used the activate command but it comes back with 'SQL1490W Activate database is successful, however, the database has already been activated on one or more nodes. ' Sorry should have mentioned that.
Possibly I have a problem with buffers or some other configuration parameter. I will check. Any other ideas?
Simon.

Try
activating the database so the buffers, etc. are allocated and don't have to be
allocated with each connect.

Can anyone help,
Using the command 'connect to database' (on an installation of db2 newly set up) the command seems to take forever. This is on a telnet session and the database is on the same machine. Has anyone had a similar problem and solved or any ideas very welcome. Many thanks,
Simon.
