In case anyone wants to know the details of why the 6/16/02 version of
fixpack 7 was pulled, here are the details. I was told that db2 list appl
was recording duplicate process ids & the instance was crashing. I noticed
fixpack7 was pulled 9/4/02 & was told the replacement was back on the ftp
site on 9/11/02.
Perhaps IBM could save themselves alot of calls by placing a pull out notice
on the ftp site, detailing the issues. We are all not perfect, humbly
admitting it, opens our minds to other doors of knowledge.

Christie, I am not sure what the issue is. FP7 was withdrawn and replaced
2 days later. That was over a 50 days ago. I know BNY is running the old
one anyway anyway. The issue was a parm, Max_Logiagents, did not deefault
properly. BNY set it and did not care to move off.

Here is the info
==========

FixPak 7 has been pulled from the FTP server due to APAR IY33275. We're
rebuilding the FixPak for all platforms and we'll have new versions
available (I'm told by our service build manager) for download by next
Tuesday.

We're also publishing a short news article on the DB2 Support site later
today (URL in my sig) that describes the situation. Let me know if you need
additional information.

ERROR DESCRIPTION: LIST APPLICATIONS or GET SNAPSHOT will
show multiple applications with the same application handle
id. This causes problems when forcing applications, for the
application handle id cannot be specified.
This occurs when concentrator is not enabled and with a
workload of more than 100 concurrent direct connections to
  the database server.
Other more severe symptoms occur on EE systems with
INTRA_PARALLEL enabled and on all EEE systems. The system
may crash due to traps in sqlrintp or sqlra_copy_pkg , or
from -901 with message " Lock_needed specified for local var "
  in the db2diag.log .

LOCAL FIX: Set max_logicagents to a specific value (the same
as max_coordagents), rather than leave it as default (-1).

Hi,

I just got an e-mail from IBM saying that fp7 is pulled out..

Hello Murali,

As we discussed before, there FP 7 was pulled due to some important APARs
on the server side of the DB2 v7 code.

The old FP 7 signature is U482566 (7.1.0.65) and the new FP 7 is U484485
(7.1.0.68). Hence, your client machine is indeed at FP 7.
