I am on a team that is beginning a project to build a Data Warehouse
that will be running DB2 UDB EEE on a p690 Regatta with AIX 5.1. The current
guidance is to run the Regatta as one LPAR.
I have worked with EEE in a SP environment with 12 physical nodes. I
have been reading the implementation guide about "multiple logical nodes"
and how to setup the db2node.cfg file. Some of my questions are (and yes
right now they are very general):
Is anyone on the list currently running EEE on a Regatta? Either
with a single LPAR or multiple LPARS?
Is anyone running EEE with multiple logical nodes, Regatta or not?
If you are, is there only one instance running (i.e., if you issue db2ilist
do you only get back the one instance)? If you are running multiple logical
nodes, and do a ps -ef | grep db2sysc, do you see one db2sysc for each
logical node?
I know these questions are very general, but I am just trying to
visualize what the box and software will look like before I actually get my
hands on it to play.
