FP8 fixed some significant bugs, but it introduced a rather serious problem
that IBM addressed with a hotfix, which replaces the db2bp and db2level
binaries. I've been running FP8 in production on Solaris for a little
while, and it seems to be doing alright. Then again, my shop's DB2 usage
patterns are simple enough that even the dreaded FixPak 2a ran smoothly for
a long time, so my observations may not be terribly relevant to your
situation.
