Hi David,

There can be many reasons for that reason code. The -30081 is a general
connection failure. The reason code can be sometimes more helpful but a
lot of times not very helpful.

We have run into this combination error and return code several times every
time for a different reason

1. There was a TCPIP error when the failover process was set up. Some db2
files were missing.

2. Another time we failed to use the proper dsn name for a remote server

3. Another time we had the wrong port number in the catalog node statement
.

4. Another time DB2COMM=TCPIP was missing when we issued the db2set -all
command

5.Another time we had an error in the SVCENAME in the dbm cfg.

Hope one of these helps you. If you find another problem let me know so I
can document for our shop.

Thanks,
