I just downloaded the example database and it opened OK. The table view did not
display the date using the format listed in table edit dialog however.

I reset the display to "Jan 1, 1990" in table edit and the display corrected
itself. The date in the first column is then displayed as 'Dec 30, 1899' when
opend in table view.

Further I was able to enter the following values with these results:
