Well, the real problem is the MDY date order input if the locale or the number
format uses a DMY (or YMD) date order instead, which is the case for the
English_Canada locale. The same behavior shows up in Calc's cell input. As there
is no ambiguity what "Jan 01 01" would be in different locales (there is no MYD
date order if not manually set)  it should always be interpreted as MDY in these
cases, independent of the locale's date order. Easy to enhance in the number
formatter, grabbing issue.
