cannot reproduce:
The fields are enabled as soon as the "Data field" input field loses the focus.
Note that this is the usual behavior for most controls in the property browser:
The change you do is "committed" if you leave the field, not earlier. This means
that while typing into the field, the property is actually not yet changed -
only when you set the focus to somewhere else.
