I'd like to retract the original description because it is wrong. The problem
still exists but the culprit isn't the read-only state of the control but simply
whether or not the control has a default value.
That is, if a control has no value entered into the form control and no default
value set in the control then the default value should then be provided by the
database and not included in the INSERT statement.
Should I request that this issue be closed and then open a new one?
