Yes, in OpenOffice.org 3.0, the file format was developed towards the upcoming
Open Document Format (ODF), which in version 1.2 will also include a
specification for a database file format. OpenOffice.org versions up to
OpenOffice.org 2.3 do not support this ODF format, OpenOffice.org versions
starting from 2.4 *do* support it.
Since the development of OOo 2.3 is not continued, there's no chance of teaching
OOo 2.3 to read the new file format.
