Changing autocommit changes the mode, but does not necessarily issue an immediate command. If going from AutoCommit off to AutoCommit on, a commit will only be issued if you are already inside of a transaction. If you have not done anything yet, or if the last command was a commit or rollback, then no commit will be issued. If you are going from AutoCommit off to AutoCommit on, a begin will be issued only immediately *before* the first subsequent command is issued. This avoids having a transaction open needlessly. Hope that makes sense, if not, let the list know. And documentation patches are always welcome as well. :) - -- Greg Sabino Mullane [EMAIL PROTECTED] PGP Key: 0x14964AC8 200704152043 http://biglumber.com/x/web?pk=2529DF6AB8F79407E94445B4BC9B906714964AC8 -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- iD8DBQFGIsgRvJuQZxSWSsgRA9ZaAJ9tNmRDja0E6sqHBmskzK72lQR3JACeNEDH n7ZsRN1szAw0ME8xadR7cLQ= =oYNn -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
