Thanks Andrew and Sean! I'm forgot to tell I'm new to PostgresSQL's all features. I could not imagine you could extend PSQL with perl or python, so the first impression was a relation to DBD-Pg! :-) However, I glanced at "PostgreSQL - The Comprehensive Guide" afterwards where stuff about extending PSQL with Perl or Python scripts are discussed.
