I have to install a DBD driver for Informix on
a Linux box (Mandrake 9.0) in a need to access an existing
Informix database site hosted on another AIX machine.

I found the latest package on CPAN (DBD-Informix-1.04.PC1.tar.gz).

The installation process on the Linux Box requires that Informix
be installed first :

<<QUOTE>>
You must have a version of IBM Informix Client SDK (or IBM Informix
ESQL/C) installed on the computer where you wish to compile DBD::Informix.
IBM Informix Connect is not sufficient for compiling DBD::Informix.
The Notes/FAQ file contains more information about what you need.
ESQL/C Versions 4.1x and earlier are not (and will not be) supported
by DBD::Informix. ESQL/C Versions 5.00 and up should be OK.
If you do not have ESQL/C, DBD::Informix will not work.
<<END QUOTE>>

The site www.informix.com is no longer active, so I'm stuck not
being able to install Informix, when in fact I do not need
it on the Linux box.

What one can suggest about this deadlock situation?

Does someone have a binary version (rpm or else) of
the DBD driver that would work with DBI 1.32 and
a Mandrake 9.0 distribution.

Thanks in advance.
