After banging my head on the desk for most of the
week, trying everything including changing shared
memory sizes on our Oracle server, I went through one
more time.
As a last resort I tried compiling DBD to use the
Oracle 7 OCI API and it works.
So, my question has now slightly changed; what
disadvantages (if any) are there in using DBD compiled
with Oracle 7 OCI's interfacing to Oracle 8.1.6?
Also, is this a problem with DBD or Oracles OCI's?
Cheers,
Simon.
