I'm trying to make DBI 1.15 on a new Sun Blade running Solaris 8.
which cc returns /usr/ucb/cc
but when I run make I get
cc -c -xO3 -xdepend -DVERSION=\"1.15\" -DXS_VERSION=\"1.15\" -KPIC -I/usc
/usr/ucb/cc: language optional software package not installed
*** Error code 1
make: Fatal error: Command failed for target `Perl.o'
Reading some posts on deja I take it that Sun doesn't ship the C compiler anymore???
If so ... I have the Forte Developer 6 Update 1 CD that came with the system. What
package do I need to install to get the compiler? Is the Personal C Edition good
enough?
Any other hints?
