Make sure your ORACLE_HOME and LD_LIBRARY_PATH are set correctly.

Hello Perl-DBI users,
I am running Apache 1.3.20 with mod_perl 1.25 on RedHat Linux 6.2
(2.2.17 kernel) .
I also have Oracle8i Enterprise Edition 8.1.6.0.0 running on the same
server.
I have successfully built, tested and installed DBI-1.18 the following
way:
perl Makefile.PL
make
make test
make install
When trying to do the same with DBD::Oracle-1.07
I get the following error at the make test level

t/general...........install_driver(Oracle) failed: Can't load
'blib/arch/auto/DBD/Oracle/Oracle.so' for module DBD::Oracle:
libclntsh.so.8.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or
directory at /usr/lib/perl5/5.00503/i386-linux/DynaLoader.pm line 169.
at (eval 1) line 3
Perhaps a required shared library or dll isn't installed where expected
at t/general.t line 20
