Turn on tracing in the driver manager in odbcinst.ini

[ODBC]
Trace=Yes
TraceFile=/tmp/sql.log

Have a look to see whats being passed to SQLDriverConnect and
SQLConnect, you may need a DSN= in front of the connect string.
