The Oracle client is installed otherwise how would 1.06 work, unless of
course 1.12 requires additional parts of the Oracle client.... ?

I can't find the header files I need in your Oracle installation.
You probably need to install some more Oracle components.
I'll keep going, but the compile will probably fail.
See README.clients for more information.
and the subsequent make does indeed fail.
I tried various things without success, then thought I'd go back and try
DBD-Oracle-1.06.
This built succesfully without any problems.
So what is different between Makefile.PL on 1.06 and 1.12 which prevents
it from locating the header files correctly ?
