Well the environment is coming up correctly so the problem is coming a little later

what is the NLS_LANG setting of your db.

Sometimes if you do not have this set in your ENV it could lead to this problem.

cheers

I recompiled DBI 1.607, DBD Oracle 1.22, and perl 5.8.8. I am still getting the error. I have attached the DBI trace.

The listener is working correctly. I can even sqlplus from the same server with the same TNSNAME.

Hi Chris-

too many variables to figure out what might be causing this error
get the source for your OS for each ppm package starting with
DBI 1.607 and
DBD oracle 1.22
perl 5.8.8
and compile ALL of them
make sure you have valid TNS listener setup
tnsping TNSNAME
the binaries should at least connect if not let us know ..

Martin
