I am in the process of moving from an Oracle-based system to Postgres, and am 
trying to replicate the setup I have in Oracle.

This is primarily for a variety of web-based applications. None of the database 
users exist as user accounts on the client or servers involved; in Oracle the 
encryption process is handled by the client software. From reading the docs it 
is unclear where it is handled in the Postgresql client.

How does DBD::Pg manage login encryption? For example SSL…
