Firstly - I apologize for double posting... first post had bad thread data.

Anyway - Is there a way to generate virtual columns/fields programmatically?

What I'm actually trying to do is find the best way to get the value of DBIx::Class::Tree::AdjacencyList->has_descendants() into the json data that I'm returning via Catalyst::Controller::DBIC::API::REST.

I'm struggling to a) decide if this is a 'good idea' and b) where to put the actual logic.

If the right thing to do is on the Catalyst side I apologize for the intrusion. ;-)

Any help greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Wes Cravens
