So, getting back to my original plan after assorted alarums and excursions, I've thrown a devrel dist together and lobbed it cpanwards for cpantesters to soak it.
I did a local test of all direct revdeps against both this dist and the current stable one on cpan (recursive revdeps testing will happen later). The list of failures from cpanm appears to be identical for both, so while I intend to chase those down anyway to see who's at fault, I figured we could get cpantesters munch on the dist in the mean time anyway. As such, I've just (on branch 'devrel') run: make dist cpan-upload ./DBIx-Class-0.082899_15.tar.gz git push origin devrel (no tag because I don't see any tags for previous dev releases and am trying to avoid any attempt at being 'clever' with this one) Note that this is *not* particularly a request to test this dist, although I have no problem if some of you want to play anyway - primarily it's for the purpose of "while our release automation contains lots of idiot proofing, it's always possible I've managed to be the 'better idiot' even so" at the moment - so let's see if the smoke is as white as one hopes before doing anything else. (or, to be clearer, those of you who've been around for a while are used to me harassing you to test devrels ... in this case, I'm not doing so *yet*) -- Matt S Trout - Shadowcat Systems - Perl consulting with a commit bit and a clue http://shadowcat.co.uk/blog/matt-s-trout/ http://twitter.com/shadowcat_mst/ Email me now on mst (at) shadowcat.co.uk and let's chat about how our CPAN commercial support, training and consultancy packages could help your team. _______________________________________________ List: http://lists.scsys.co.uk/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/dbix-class IRC: irc.perl.org#dbix-class SVN: http://dev.catalyst.perl.org/repos/bast/DBIx-Class/ Searchable Archive: http://www.grokbase.com/group/dbix-class@lists.scsys.co.uk
