Summary: SQLRelay Backend For Dbmail
Description:
This backend will deprecate my odbc driver. This opens up a lot of
opertunities for expansion on databases.

I started experimenting with SQLRelay for this purpose a while ago, it
turns out SQLRelay has a few major shortcomings in the performance area.
While it supports a lot of databases and has the loadbalancing and
failover I really want, it's preformance hit makes it unusable, I would
consider just tuning your ODBC more or as was discussed work on getting an
opensource abstraction layer such as libdb or which ever they were looking
at tested and tuned up.

just my 0.02

Let's err on the side of directly supporting common backends and only then
consider the more esoteric layers like SQLRelay. libdbi is great in that
it gives us all of our common backends in one place. ODBC does a similar
thing, although its buzzword compliance gives me the shivers :-P

I'll probably create a sqlrelay backend to libdbi anyhow.
