The following sets out the behaviour of DBMail's

when encryption by DBMail is requested or supplied (-raw)
Where password = 'yourtest' and user = 'anyuser'
DBMAIL ENCRYPTS PASSWORD
case plaintext
----------
dbmail_users.encryption_type = ''
dbmail_users.passwd = 'yourtest'
case crypt
----------
dbmail_users.encryption_type = 'crypt'
dbmail_users.passwd = 'sixG/7CU2FOtg'
case md5-hash
----------
dbmail_users.encryption_type = 'md5'
dbmail_users.passwd = '$1$rjN6/GVE$6rPnLX388iJ1Dt7J/LRPf.'
case md5-digest
----------
dbmail_users.encryption_type = 'md5sum'
dbmail_users.passwd = 'b22766fada4a17d0f1a67c258a1d93d7'
PASSWORD HASH IS
case crypt-raw
----------
dbmail_users.encryption_type = 'crypt'
dbmail_users.passwd = 'whatever hash you enter'
case md5-hash-raw
----------
dbmail_users.encryption_type = 'md5'
dbmail_users.passwd = 'whatever hash you enter'
case md5-digest-raw
----------
dbmail_users.encryption_type = 'md5sum'

So I would like to use the md5-hash-raw encoding.... problem is that
when I do I can not log into the IMAP account. The database shows teh
md5-hash-raw encoding as MD5
Ok, yeah, I do see that something isn't working right. I'll have some
time this weekend to soak my head in the MD5 stuff again.
Just an FYI -- this isn't fixed in 2.1.6 because the code looks almost the
same as code going back to 2.0, which means its possible that this MD5
mode never worked right. I'm going to write a test suite module before
making any changes so that we don't get any regressions in the other
password encryption types.
