Dear Aron, I believe that your problem is how to forward a copy of a mail coming in to your servers to someone else from another domain... Let me paint the scenario here to rightly understand your query...
Let us assume that I, say a sys admin managing the mail server for a company, have a sales person who has left the organization after working here for over three years. Now he keeps receiving mails from prospects & customers... The BIG BOSS who heads sales wants a copy of all mails that the ex-sales-person receives, to come to his ID also. We can automate this process by setting up a simple rule at the server end using the technology below... Moreover, we can set different conditions and rules to perform different actions... Please go thru the following link and see if it helps... We used the same tool to develop a rule engine to effect the same requirement as yours in one of our applications... Butch, the same tool is widely used to achieve spam filtering... The technology spoken of in the link below is called Bayesian Filters, essentially used for spam filtering, but also provides for different rule sets to achieve functionalities based on conditional action sequences... Pls check out the link http://email.about.com/cs/bayesianfilters/a/bayesian_filter.htm and see if it is of any help... I'm trying forward a COPY of mails that receives to [EMAIL PROTECTED](dbmail) to [EMAIL PROTECTED](in an other domain on an other server), so [EMAIL PROTECTED] AND [EMAIL PROTECTED] has the email, but I can't do it. Has anybody any idea how can I do this? Thanks! If you want to forward all mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] to both [EMAIL PROTECTED] and [EMAIL PROTECTED], then the easiest way is to define an alias entry, add the line a: a, [EMAIL PROTECTED] to your /etc/aliases file for the server serving the b domain. If you want to forward a single mail, my opinion is that the problem resides within the mail client. I beleive outlook forwards the complete mail, but Mozilla/Netscape strips the attachments /Magnus Preisinger ron wrote: > Hi > > I use postfix+dbmail. > I'm trying forward a COPY of mails that receives to [EMAIL PROTECTED](dbmail) > to > [EMAIL PROTECTED](in an other domain on an other server), so [EMAIL > PROTECTED] AND [EMAIL PROTECTED] has the > email, but I can't do it. > > Has anybody any idea how can I do this? > > Thanks! > > Aron > > > _______________________________________________ > Dbmail mailing list > [email protected] > https://mailman.fastxs.nl/mailman/listinfo/dbmail > --__--__-- Message: 3 Date: Mon, 08 Sep 2003 14:58:39 +0200 From: =?ISO-8859-1?Q?Preisinger_ron?= <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [Dbmail] forward a COPY of mail Reply-To: [email protected] Magnus Sundberg wrote: > I am not shure this is an issue with dbmail. > If you want to forward all mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] to both [EMAIL > PROTECTED] and [EMAIL PROTECTED], then the > easiest way is to define an alias entry, add the line > a: a, [EMAIL PROTECTED] > to your /etc/aliases file for the server serving the b domain. Yes, this was the first thing I've done. But it doesn't work. > If you want to forward a single mail, my opinion is that the problem > resides within the mail client. No, I want the server to do this. Have you rebuilt the aliases database?
