MessageOk Well the problem I am having is, I have setup dbmail and I can login to the pop3d fine. [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ telnet REMOVED 110 Trying REMOVED... Connected to REMOVED. Escape character is '^]'. +OK DBMAIL pop3 server ready to rock <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> user REMOVED +OK Password required for marc pass REMOVED +OK marc has 0 messages (0 octets)
And I can connect to it remotely, using say Outlook or evolution..... HOWEVER, I am not trying to setup a smtp server to use, I was going to use sendmail, but I am not completly sure how I am supposed to set it up. Basically the server will host virtual domains in the mysql db's created by dbmail-mysql, which all seems to be fine. But then how do I setup sendmail to use or be able to use these domains? There are currently(or planned) 5 domains on the machine. phphigh.com / easytemplate.net / undesigned.org.za / aftermatch.net / genetech.co.za I was told that I would only really have to set up masqurading for sendmail ? OR what should I do ? As you send dbmail only uses the smtp for bounced mail and forwarding mail, but how do I set it up? I am really knew to the whole mta thing in general, so I have no clue how I am supposed to setup sendmail/postfix etc. Also one other question I had, I created a symlink to the dbmail-pop3d and smtpd daemons in /usr/local/sbin/ so that if I wanted to start them I simply go /etc/init.d/dbmail-pop3/imap but then I see in total 52 threads for the pop3 daemon when I start it ? SURELY this is not correct ? Is anyone maybe willing to help me setup sendmail? because I just couldnt get it working this weekend :( and I am almost at then end of my thread about trying to setup a smtp daemon for dbmail !!! :< Regards ----- Marc Hultquist ComputerKit Systems (Pty) Ltd Network Administrator http://www.cks.co.za (E-Mail) [EMAIL PROTECTED] (Cell) +27 (0)82 5495467 Personal Site: http://www.aftermatch.net ----- Original Message ----- From: John Hansen To: [email protected] Sent: Monday, February 09, 2004 11:40 AM Subject: RE: [Dbmail] Anyone ? what seems to be the problem? Bear in mind that dbmail is not an MTA, it relies on an MTA like PostFIX. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Marc Hultquist Sent: Monday, February 09, 2004 8:29 PM To: DBMail Subject: [Dbmail] Anyone ?
