I use dbmail for a couple of days and have been monitoring the maillog very closely. No errors, except for the following which occured once. Apr 30 22:25:06 mailer dbmail/pop3d[211]: PerformChildTask(): incoming connection from [192.168.1.3 (sharon)] Apr 30 22:25:06 mailer dbmail/pop3d[211]: __auth_query(): connection failure Apr 30 22:25:06 mailer dbmail/pop3d[211]: auth_validate(): could not select user information Apr 30 22:25:06 mailer dbmail/pop3d[211]: pop3_handle_connection(): authorization layer failure Apr 30 22:25:48 mailer dbmail/pop3d[209]: PerformChildTask(): incoming connection from [192.168.1.3 (sharon)] Apr 30 22:25:48 mailer dbmail/pop3d[209]: __auth_query(): connection failure Apr 30 22:25:48 mailer dbmail/pop3d[209]: auth_validate(): could not select user information Apr 30 22:25:48 mailer dbmail/pop3d[209]: pop3_handle_connection(): authorization layer failure When I closed my mailclient and restarted it, the problem was gone (I was able to login). Why this behavior? I installed dbmail 1.2.7a on freebsd 4.9 with postfix 2.0.19 and mysql 4.0.18. On the client (windows xp) I have outlook 2003. Pop trace_level logging is set to 2, so not much detail I am afraid. Jan-Kees
