Does IMAP4 allow for "'" in the password? I can't find the valid characters in the RFC (I might not be looking well enough). If it's allowed this can be considered a bug.. Can you, for starters, put in the bugtracker (http://dbmail.org/bugtracker/main_page.php)? If we're starting to allow it, we should be very careful to escape the "'" when using it in queries. Ilja
