We run SuSE Pro 8.2 with a 2.4.xx kernel.. I am quite pleased with it.. We also run a patched version of Postfix that allows us to connect with PostgreSQL for our databackend.. I am quite pleased with this setup, with 1 exception.. TLS or Secure POP/IMAP.. I believe we are still running the 1.xx version of the code, and I couldn't see any options for adding this capability. However, I have ran into a couple of proxy projects that allow TLS/SSL that could work fairly well, but I haven't had the time to investigate them any further..

Is there a preferred version of Linux to run dbmail on? My first choice
was Red Hat until they went commercial. So now I'm wondering Fedora,
SUSE, Debian, Mandrake, etc. I imagine this is mostly user preference.
I would appreciate any recommendations and comments. What distribution
do the developers use?

Besides dbmail I plan on running fetchmail, postfix, procmail, mysql,
and apache (along with any dependencies). Does a How-To for a similar
setup exist?
