Holy crap...nevermind, it wasn't a problem with the
AMD64 machine! It was a problem with my effective user...
Although I had the proper effective user set in my conf
file, I had forgotten to add the user/group to the
machine and so it was running as root...
After fixing that it doesn't crap out all my services
anymore!
Thanks for this tip!

My hunch was correct. You go change those EFFECTIVE_USER/GROUP lines *now*.
Never run dbmail or any other daemon as root. You're not in kansas any
more.
Simply change those lines to user and group dbmail. Run groupadd dbmail;
useradd dbmail; and restart. See if that helps in not bringing down your
system.

I hope i can give more info:
I installed dbmail on a local system and on a dedicated server. Both
machines have same config (suse 9.0 etc.)
The complete server gives NO RESPONDS after killall dbmail-pop3d !
No responds via ssh (it shuts down after i send the kill signal!).
No Webserver responds (going down when killall dbmail-pop3d). But
ping is okay ! But i must restart the server by hand. The last in
"warn" log is many lines of "serverchild.c,active:child_sig_handler:
git signal [15]"
I dont have more info. Hope its enough (?)
Show us your dbmail.conf.
