Hello Bart. I have never tried to build dbmail from FBSD ports, but DbMail runs very well on FBSD
Suggest you "make deinstall" then download and install 2.0.3 and read INSTALL and INSTALL.(your_MTA_choice) Perhaps you have already. Have you checked your dbmail.conf in /etc lmtpd should be at /usr/local/sbin/dbmail-lmtpd have you tried manually starting lmtpd?
