Not exactly sure, i found the setup i am using on the dbmail online
documentation page somewhere think it must be older instructions .   I
then tried to  follow the setup to enable both smtp and lmtp but got
errors. Going to experiment with main.cf and transport try and get lmtp to work becuae i think it is faster.

You are already connecting to MySQL for mydest, why not throw transport in there as well? Save you from having to do postmap on each change.
