Hello folks,

It's good to see DBMail getting famous now!

I have submitted DBMail to hotscripts and approved
http://www.hotscripts.com/Detailed/51439.html , beside I did the same in some
other search engines.

We all should tell friends about it, and in forums ..etc, we should market it,
as you could see FF got nice share of users because of the marketing behind it.

I just found that runbox.com which is big email services provider also uses
DBMail, and they are saying good stuff about it!

' The current IMAP server is a very old patched Courier IMAPd. The modification
was done externally, and it was the best we could do at the time. However, the
result has proven buggy, and the code is a mess.

We've tried several times to reproduce the reported errors and find the cause,
but the code is for all practical purposes quite impenetrable.

Obviously this is not an adequate explanation for those that have lost
messages, and we will do everything we can to recover them for you. We can most
likely find them either in your Homedir (if they've just been dropped from the
DB), or in your backup.

To rid ourselves completely of the Courier monstrosity we've started work on a
new IMAP server based on DBmail. This is progressing nicely, and the
authentication part is already completed. At this rate we can hope to have it
ready for testing by the end of August.

Courier needed heavy patching to communicate with the database at all, while
DBmail was created to store everything in a database (metadata and messages).
It forms a much better foundation in general and especially for the Runbox
system (as we already store metadata in the database).

We can assure you that the new IMAP server will undergo heavy testing when it's
done to rule out any bugs.
