Are you using DBMail or Dovecot?

I have a problem retrieving mail from dbmail with IMAP.

I am using Evolution and Dovecot.

I started dbmail.lmtpd and dbmail.imapd, then Postfix.

From Evolution it says authentication failed, but there's nothing in the
postfix log file.

Okay, so crank up your dbmail-imap logging to 5, and see why the authentication is failing, it should let you know if it's a problem connecting to the DB, or if it's a lookup error, or what-not.

I set this (I hope that's what you menn)
[IMAP]
TRACE_LEVEL=5

Nothing to the maillog file...same error from Evolution.

Jim
Did you restart the IMAP process? You should get TONS of messages with trace_level = 5, even when it's working properly.
