I do have a spare machine to try it on, but given my smaller
test and reports of others with similar sized DB's it will
potentially take many hours.

My plan was to actually set it up on a different machine and
start DBMail on that, if it works, then away I go. If it
doesn't I go back to the current database.

I also want to go to 8.1.8 of postgres, etc, etc. So rather
than have one giant outage that may screw up, I was going to
try and go with a few smaller.

I have to dump the DB and restore anyways, so if I could do
that and get bytea going that would be a timesaver.

Don't you have a spare machine to test this on?

That's not the route used in the tested conversion script :-)

If you can get a 2.0 version with bytea support, your schema is
compatible with both 2.2 and 2.0 daemons.

Test the diff I sent you.
