I've recently started testing dbmail, and I'm really impressed. I have over 15,000 messages in a folder with no observable performance degradation. Try doing that with mbox or maildir! Gmail-style mailbox organization is suddenly a reality with snappy searches and instantly-updated search folders. Sweet!
I have a couple of questions, though. Question 1: ---------------- The first regards dbmail-export. I found a message in the archives from last July, describing my problem exactly: http://thread.gmane.org/gmane.mail.imap.dbmail/5582/focus=5604. I was wondering if anything more ever came of that thread. I can send my own sample output if necessary, but it looks exactly like what's already in the archive. All of the messages start with a "From [EMAIL PROTECTED] Tue Oct 11 13:06:24 2005" line, followed directly by the message body, followed by the rest of the headers. Not exactly a typical mbox... ;-) Question 2: ---------------- Does anyone have extra administrative scripts that they've written and care to share? Or convenient (python) scripting shortcuts? I'd like a quick script, for example, to run daily via cron, that will keep my archives sorted by age in years (+365 days, +730 days, +1095days, etc). Surely someone has done some python scripting of dbmail admin tasks, and it would be great not to have to start completely from scratch (lazy scripting newb here). ;-) It would be really cool to have a wiki page of contributed scripts! Some of this is motivated by the lack of granularity of client-side "search folders," so I hope server-side vfolders will be a part of dbmail soon! Thanks everyone. -C- _______________________________________________ DBmail mailing list [email protected] https://mailman.fastxs.nl/mailman/listinfo/dbmail
