that being true, I would not use it in the way you are and make assumptions about it. Certainly not while you are using the development branch. Still interesting though, the size of both the mimeparts and messageblocks table. Then, and only then it is possible to make assumptions about where there is a difference. curmail_size <=> actual size <=> maintainance.
