So, I now have dbmail-lmtpd and -imapd running. I've even received my first couple of spams on this server; I guess this is the Rite of Passage for all new email servers - before they get their filters up, at least. Next, gotta figure out why I cannot see the bodies of any emails in thunderbird. Perhaps another configuration thing I've got to change. Any ideas are welcome. And thanks again! Use either an explicit ipv4 address (like 0.0.0.0) or an explicit ipv6 address (like ::), or a combination (0.0.0.0,::) this should not be a problem on linux/fbsd systems, but we've seen similar problems since the ipv6 code was merged, and using above workaround helped.
