Do you have maintenance scripts scheduled ? My dbmail version came with such
scripts on my Debian Lenny server. Those scripts do a lot of things to keep
the database running (postgresql), including index rebuilds. Otherwise I
also use thunderbird clients on IMAP ; I could convince the last outlook
user that his MUA was crap and not respectful of the W3C standards. Of
course I'm totally objective and not trolling at all ;).
