don't worry, i had this idea even for postfix some months ago after
using dbmail/postfix since 2009 while thinking about what can the
replication-slave do useful except only backups

i can not perl nor understand i good enough how postfix
works to contribute any code *sorry*

what about an additional param for the daemon to get conifigration
independent from dbmail without breaking users who do not
want additional config-files and happy with reuse of "dbmail.conf"?
