I am new to DBmail but with the tutorial at:

i was able to setup DBmail on Debian. I think it should also work with
ubuntu.
Maybe you can look at http://www.manitou-mail.org/
Espacially the manitou-.mdx modul is usefull to fetch mails from
mailboxes and put them into DB.
Only works with PostgreSQL.

it looks like just "glib" and "libzdb" are missing. I'll have to
manually install those first? Otherwise, does it look like I have the
other depencies already?
Incidentally, is there an alternate to dbmail, perhaps, which provides
the same, or similar, functionality?
