I have install a server with Ubuntu 12.04.1 LTS ( Precise Pangolin ) and after that I have used the tutorial : http://www.dbmail.org/dokuwiki/doku.php/a_sample_mailserver_from_the_scratch_with_dbmail_3.0
I add sources for DBMail - deb http://debian.nfgd.net/debian/ lucid main because I have not other choise. But I receive that : ".... apt-get install libsieve2-1 libzdb7 dbmail postfix-mysql mysql-server Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree Reading state information... Done Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable distribution that some required packages have not yet been created or been moved out of Incoming. The following information may help to resolve the situation: The following packages have unmet dependencies: dbmail : Depends: libgmime-2.4-2 (>= 2.4.11) but it is not installable libzdb7 : Depends: libmysqlclient16 (>= 5.1.21-1) but it is not installable E: Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages. ........... " After that I try to install manually the dependencies , but without succes .. I have meet dependencies at dependencies and problem envolved and stuck somewhere. Additionally , I found that discution : http://askubuntu.com/questions/175731/which-ppa-or-repo-has-libgmime-2-0-2a where - I read that opinion : "... it's a dependency for dbmail. There's no repo? – Thufir<http://askubuntu.com/users/45156/thufir> Aug 14 '12 at 17:02<http://askubuntu.com/questions/175731/which-ppa-or-repo-has-libgmime-2-0-2a#comment217098_175733> Looks like dbmail was dropped in Oneiric, probably because it doesn't support a newer version of libgmime (I didn't look too much into this). I've updated my answer with another possibility. – tgm4883<http://askubuntu.com/users/2159/tgm4883> Aug 14 '12 at 19:14<http://askubuntu.com/questions/175731/which-ppa-or-repo-has-libgmime-2-0-2a#comment217173_175733> ..." but the entire post is very interesting and reflect the same problems like in my case. I really need help about that. It is shame to give up a reliable solution so that DBMail and I hope this does not happen. -- yours, Sebastian Miclea E-mail : [email protected]
