thank you very much - my tests are successfull, verified with "Apple Mail" too
it's in production now

dbmail-3.1.5-5.fc18.20130909.rh.4c23432cc270554557f9e130331214d81164131b.x86_64

the lags caused by timeout event are noticeable, most likely only for people
like me
with 50 folders and a lot of shared ones too but not for "normal" usage and if
it
prevents spin-locks it's worth and "feeling more responsible" doesn't help at
the end of the day

BTW:
mysqltuner output makes me happy with the latest releases

from 1500-2500 qps with 3.0 down to 206 qps
this was even lower a few bugfixes ago by around 150 but that's OK
because the load is fine and less queries does not help much if
it ends in other troubles and regressions - safety first :-)

most impressive 20.8% query-cache hits, from 3.0 starting with prepared
statements
this went down to 0.5% which was most likely postfix-queries, whatever recebtly
was changed makes a lot of queries cacheable - thanks to a unknown commit
