at least in my config where "login_greeting" is empty and dovecot
is working in fornt of dbmail as proxy with the capabilities of
dbmail configured it does + the configured auth-mechs

IMHO this is a good idea becaus ein theory the client can skip the capability
command and iPhones at least 2009 did because the dovecot-upgrade summer
2009 resulted in ignore "imap_capability" and presented from dbmail not
supported capabilities in the greeting and iPhones no longer worked :-)
