I can confirm we're still seeing empty subjects in 3.1.7 fairly regularly.
On occasion we also see the wrong subject for a message and/or the wrong
time.

We have seen it in Thunderbird and I've also noticed it on Opera Mail Client
(when I experimented with it). The difference is that with the Opera client
clicking on the e-mail would result in the client getting the correct
details whereas with Thunderbird you are stuck with the wrong details.

Although in normal use this seems random (it may happen a few times a day to
someone) and client dependent (as in when multiple people are copied into
the same message not all of them will have a blank subject or incorrect
date) one reproducible way we can be absolutely sure of encountering many
such errors is either by setting up Thunderbird by scratch or deleting the
Thunderbird cached files in the profile and redownloading headers (in which
case some messages which were fine before will return corrupted).

All our mail access is by dbmail-imapd and the vast majority of mailboxes
contains thousands of messages. I've just set up an account on a new
machine with 5836 messages and 42 gave blank subjects and/or incorrect dates
- these are fine on another account which has been monitoring these e-mails
in real time rather than catching up.
